5. Change Request Process


Well-documented scope changes help prevent misunderstandings, and ensure that all concerned stakeholders have a clear understanding of impact on timeframe, cost and deliverables that a scope change may have.

Change Request Process is designed to manage changes to the project goals, deliverables, timeline, or design specifications. A typical change request process starts with the set of new changes to the scope from the client. Based on the changes specified, the change request and the overall scope is re-defined. A detailed impact analysis of the change is carried out and the same is communicated to the team and the client. Accordingly the changes are highlighted in the project plan for any impacts on delivery schedule, test procedures etc.

Impact Analysis: Once the change requests are agreed, it is sent for technical review. After the completion of the technical review process, time and cost estimation is prepared that is subject to review either by Account Manager or Business Analyst. An updated scope of work is submitted to the client for approval.

Change Approval Process is carried out on the approval of Change Request by the client. Once approved, the changes are incorporated in the project by the development team.
